Ongere began his career in 1991, selling his paintings through Gallery Watatu in Nairobi and later at the National Museums of Kenya’s Gallery of Contemporary Art. He has participated in various solo and group exhibitions at the Cultural Institutes in Kenya and African Heritage. In 2020, he exhibited in London with Art Number 23 at the Biscuit Factory and has participated in various group shows in Italy, Germany, France, Japan, China and the USA.
