The artists Edward Francis Kiiza, Tenywa and George Lilanga all practised printmaking at Nyumba ya Sanaa, Dar es Salaam, founded in 1972 by American missionary Jean Pruitt as a cultural centre, art workshop and gallery. This set of prints features three distinct print-making styles, including a linocut print by Edward Francis Kiiza, a finely rendered intaglio print titled In a bus by Tenywa for whom not much information is known and a rare aquatint print by George Lilanga, more prominently known for his paintings and sculptures.
