Modern & Contemporary East African Art Auction 2017

Circle Art Auction 2017 was the 4th edition which took place on Monday 27 February 2017 at the Inter-Continental Nairobi.

This year’s sale took over a year to curate and collect. There were 54 modern and contemporary artworks from both the secondary and primary market from seven countries; Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Sudan, Ethiopia, Seychelles and Zimbabwe. The selection included some rare art from as early as 1958 from artists we have not presented before to current work from our most promising contemporary artists.

The evening’s sales totalled over Ksh 23 million (USD 230,000) with 85% of lots sold (including sales post-auction).
